Legal Alert - Mandatory use of a face mask or face cloth for all employees in the workplace

The Government has adopted a Decree with a force of law imposing face-covering requirements during the state of emergency, as a part of an overall safety plan in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the requirements in the Decree with a legal effect as of  April 23, imposes obligation for all employees to wear a face mask or face cloth in the workplace.

The mandatory wear of a face protection is applicable for all employees and the employees should not be permitted to work without such protection. 

For any non-compliance with this requirement by the companies a penalty in the amount of EUR 2,000 is prescribed.
